Tejas Eye Hospital
In May 2011 the Tejas Eye Hospital (TEH), run by the Divyajyoti trust in Mandvi town in the state of Gujarat, India, opened with a view to serve the poor and needy tribal population around the area. TEH hospital is one of the very well-equipped hospitals of Gujarat. Presently doing approx. 13000+ eye operations a year with the help of twelve full time Ophthalmologists including corneal transplants and retina surgeries.
The hospital runs short term and long-term training programs for Paramedic staff and Ophthalmologists, including a 4-year Optometry program started in 2017. Research activities are conducted under the able guidance of qualified professionals
Three times a week diagnostic eye camps are carried out in communities within the radius of approximately 100kms of the hospital. This includes 2000 villages, a population of approximately 2.5 million. TEH is also providing eye care services at two community health clinics in partnership with the government of Gujarat.
